The custom boots nightmare - part 3

Well... I was back to the bootfitter to figure out what Riedell told him they made, and what I've actually got.

We warmed the boots, he asked well? Well what? They are too long! He touched the toe, he obviously felt... he said it was also still too high (that was the reason I went custom in the first place... the height of the toe box)... though he can adjust that by placing something underneath my foot... I'm like for what... they are too long... see I shove my finger at the back of my foot and there is still plenty of space on the right foot and on the left "just" a finger.

He wanted to measure again... his face dropped. He measured again... He said he, and Riedell both measured wrongly... I'm 5 1/2 and 5 not 5 1/2 and 5 1/4. Well that's just 1/4 difference on one foot. My old boots are 5 1/2, these customs ones are bigger then those. He check the paper and said the custom seem to be 5 3/4 and 5 1/2. Like why? that is 1/4 more than initial measurement... and it is supposedly because they allow 1/4 extra for adults.... anyway I'm like noooope, the new right boot is not 5 1/2 like my old one, is a different 5 1/2... more like a 6...

I showed him lateral comparison between my old boots and new boots, the heel cup is coming out on the new ones, looks like extra space there... like a 1/4 size. As the boots were aligned on the table now, I also point at the height difference of the boot in the back, and the heel height and shape difference. And the back of the boot pitching forward. And the lining...

He took a form like the one I was measured on at the factory and basically took a new order. He measured me... again... yeap 5 1/2 and 5...

He said he'll talk to Riedell. I asked if he thinks they'll make new ones and hopefully make them faster... He said it's totally up to them.
